About ImmuneSpring
Immune Spring only sells colostrum from the first milking of Grade A dairy cows.
From start to finish colostrum from cows raised in North America is superior. North America is considered to have the best and safest controls and its pasture fed cows are free of pesticides, antibiotics and diseases.
As soon as a calf is born the mother starts switching over to the production of regular milk. The first time she is milked 80% of her colostrum is removed. A cow is never milked completely dry, so some colostrum will remain and be removed at the 2nd milking but it will be greatly diluted with regular milk. By the 3rd milking there is almost no colostrum present. The only true colostrum is that taken the first time the cow is milked. These are not new discoveries, the dairy industry has always known this but some companies have taken advantage of the public by selling "colostrum" from the 2nd, 3rd or even 5th milking. If you want the highest quality colostrum, the most important consideration is to only use the first milk removed from the cow.
Immune Spring Colostrum is drawn from many different dairies in a wide geographical area.
A cow's colostrum will contain antibodies to fight the various pathogens to which she has been exposed. If you collect colostrum from one dairy, you only get antibodies for the microbial threats that have challenged that particular herd. By drawing colostrum from many dairies spread over a large geographical area, we are able to ensure that you will get the widest spectrum of antibody protection possible.
Removing the fat lowers the quality. Nothing is removed from or added to Immune Spring Colostrum.
Many suppliers remove all the fat from their colostrum. They do this for their convenience and to make more money, but then they try to pass it off as a benefit to the consumer. Here is a partial list of how this helps them-not you:
- When the butterfat is removed, a lot of the immunoglobulins, growth factors and other special agents are removed as well. This colostrum butterfat is sold to companies that make milk replacer formula for calves. They claim that no special factors are taken out but then they sell the butterfat to companies whose main interest is in obtaining these same factors.
- Nonfat colostrum has a longer shelf life. This can be made to sound like a benefit to the consumer, but it is really for the producer. They can manufacture and encapsulate several months supply and warehouse it as long as they require. It is far better to constantly bottle smaller batches that are fresh from the dairies and get it to the consumer as promptly as possible.
- Nonfat colostrum is a lot easier to work with. Whole milk colostrum powder can form clumps and does not flow well. The machinery that puts it in capsules needs to be in top condition and run at lower speeds-and it still requires constant monitoring. The humidity of the workplace has to be carefully controlled or big problems arise. Some companies add cheap filler materials to their colostrum that improve it's flowability so it will run through the machines faster. Some companies get weary of this hassle, especially when they see that there is a ready market for the removed butterfat.
The following is a direct quote from the book Colostrum-Mother Nature's Healthy Alternative For Every Generation by Dr. Lance Wright.
"All research shows that by taking out the fat you remove approximately 95% of the growth factors found in colostrum, also, by removing the fat you also remove the insulin factors, a few of the immune factors and all of the GOOD cholesterol."
Immune Spring colostrum is obtained from Grade A dairies that are certified to be free from antibiotics, pesticides or foreign substances.
The colostrum that goes into Immune Spring capsules is free from synthetic hormones, drugs and other impurities. It is tested at each pickup to make sure it meets these strict requirements. Other tests insure that the cows are free of disease and otherwise healthy. It is carefully pasteurized and dried in a low temperature process to prevent damage to the sensitive molecules it contains.
